Baltimore took the window-cat idea and put it on a double decker bus. You ride through the city looking at cats in decorated windows, which is either the laziest or the most civilised way to do a cat walk depending on your feelings about hills.

It is also the only one on this list where you can sign your own window cat up to be one of the exhibits, which is a lovely inversion: everywhere else you go and look, here you can be looked at.

There is a self-guided neighbourhood map for anybody who would rather walk. It runs alongside BARCS’ wider cat programming in the city.

Dates move every year. BARCS, Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter has this year’s.
