Lincoln Square Cat Tour

Chicago’s first, and the only one that comes with a cinema screening attached.

Chicago got its first cat tour in Lincoln Square, and it is the most ambitiously programmed of the lot. The day is billed as Caturday: a screening of CatVideoFest at the Davis Theater in the early afternoon, then the tour itself through the neighbourhood.

Pairing the walk with a cinema full of cat videos is a genuinely good idea nobody else has had. It gives people somewhere to start and somewhere to end up, which is the hard part of any neighbourhood event.

Chonks already found in Chicago

Real cats, found by real people, on the streets you are about to walk down. Every one of them started as somebody stopping to take a photo.

Walking it? Bring a Chonk-dex.

Chonk Finder turns the cats you meet into trading cards. It works on the route, and it works on your own street on a Tuesday, which is the bit the walk cannot do.

  1. Meet a catOn the route, in a window, on a wall. Any cat counts.
  2. Take its photoYou get a card back: a name, a rarity, and two attacks it did not consent to.
  3. Find it againFour different people find the same cat and it becomes a Chonk. Permanently.
