Portland鈥檚 second cat walk is a self-guided one for window cats specifically: the ones who spend the day watching the street from a sill, and who are, if we are honest, the reason anybody looks in windows at all.

You start at For Paws PDX and collect a printed map, then find the participating cats from the pavement, with a little about each one as you go. Sweet Pickles Designs runs it in memory of Pickles, and donations go to the CAT Adoption Team.

Free to walk, and pointedly a sidewalk affair. Nobody knocks on a door and no cat is handled.

Dates move every year. Sweet Pickles Designs has this year鈥檚.

Chonks already found in Portland

Real cats, found by real people, on the streets you are about to walk down. Every one of them started as somebody stopping to take a photo.

Walking it? Bring a Chonk-dex.

Chonk Finder turns the cats you meet into trading cards. It works on the route, and it works on your own street on a Tuesday, which is the bit the walk cannot do.

  1. Meet a catOn the route, in a window, on a wall. Any cat counts.
  2. Take its photoYou get a card back: a name, a rarity, and two attacks it did not consent to.
  3. Find it againFour different people find the same cat and it becomes a Chonk. Permanently.
